  • Joe Howe

    < Back Joe Howe they/them Claire Joe is a Melbourne based actor who graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) in 2019 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music Theatre). Growing up in Sydney, Joe loved attending workshops and classes at the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP), and in 2016 they returned to the company to play Ernst in Spring Awakening (directed by Mitchell Butel). In that same year, Joe made their first television appearance in Doctor Doctor (Nine Network). At the VCA, Joe was part of the Ensemble in Morning Melodies in 2018 (directed by Margot Fenley), and played Butch in A Chorus Line (directed by Tyran Parke). In their graduating year Joe played Chip in On the Town (directed by Adam Mitchell) and supported their company in Flora the Red Menace (directed by Jason Langley), as well as performing in the 2019 Melbourne Cabaret Festival’s Woodstock: A 50th Anniversary Celebration (directed by Tyran Parke).

  • Isabelle Davis

    < Back Isabelle Davis she/her Deb Born in Melbourne and raised in Shanghai, Isabelle graduated from the Western Australlian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) with a Bachelor of Music Theatre in 2019 – just in time for the world to shut down. Isabelle used this time to focus on her music career, releasing her debut EP ‘Small World’ in September 2021 followed by her debut single ‘Faith in Rainy Days’ later that year. Isabelle then featured in ‘Find Me’ - the theme song of award-winning audio drama, The Realm Tree, as the voice of Talia Wick. While at WAAPA, she played Sherrie Christian in Rock of Ages and Jenny in Company. Isabelle feels immensely grateful to be returning to the theatre in Be You Productions’ Ordinary Days, and is looking forward to more to come.

  • Dan Hillman

    < Back Dan Hillman he/him Warren Hailing originally from the regional city of Ballarat, Daniel Hillman is an upcoming Actor/Writer often noted for his playful sense of humour, and his love of delving into the ‘weird’. Whilst studying a Bachelor of Acting for Stage and Screen at Federation University (formally BAPA), Daniel appeared as Dromio of Syracuse in ‘The Comedy of Errors’ (directed by James Pratt), John Wisehammer in ‘Our Country’s Good’ (directed by Beng Oh), and was also given the opportunity to write and perform his one-man-show ‘Imprint’, which was presented at the annual student theatre festival. After graduating in 2019, Daniel toured for two years with Brainstorm Productions; one of Australia’s largest and most respected educational theatre companies. Here, Daniel performed in ‘The H Team’ and ‘The Flipside’ (both directed by Jenny Johnson), travelling around Victoria performing to over 25,000 students in 2021 alone. Daniel is incredibly excited for ‘Ordinary Days’ to be his Music Theatre debut, and is very grateful to Be You Productions for the amazing opportunity.

  • Daniele Buatti

    < Back Daniele Buatti he/him Music Director Daniele is a Melbourne-based Music Director, Arranger, orchestrator, pianist and voice coach. His highly diverse and extensive skills find him preparing music for corporate events, musical theatre works and commercial productions. Daniele has recently completed a Diploma of Kinesiology and is constantly finding ways to apply his studies to the voice mainly in the world of acting and theatre. Through body and breath awareness exercises and encouraging others to live a heartfelt and authentic life, Daniele is able to work with actors to help them create sound that is in full alignment with their body heart and mind. He believes that when these three are in alignment, the sounds is strong, honest and healthy. Daniele has been the resident musical and creative director of Melbourne’s Broadway Unplugged since it launched in 2013 which sees him leading a phenomenal band, whilst arranging and performing a vast array of repertoire for each of their monthly events. Once a year, Daniele presents Broadway Unplugged at the Royal Botanic Gardens, leading a phenomenal 15 piece band with entirely custom arrangements. His music director credits include The Musical of Musicals: The Musical (Be You Productions), A Chorus Line (Federation University), A Little Night Music (Watch This), Bring It On (Stage Masters) and The Beautiful Game (Manilla Street Productions). Daniele has also worked as repetiteur on musicals at the VCA (Into The Woods) and the Production Company (A Gentlemen’s Guide to Love and Murder). Daniele can be seen behind the piano at several piano bars across Melbourne including Uptown Jazz Cafe and Jasper’s Jazz Club. He also runs a musical theatre open mic night called Be You. With a love for teaching, Daniele can be seen at school’s around Melbourne such as the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), Federation University, Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance and the Australian Institute of Music (AIM).

  • John Mondelo

    < Back John Mondelo he/him Associate Music Director John is a singer, actor, and food lover originally from Perth. He is a recent graduate of the inaugural cohort of the Bachelor of Music Theatre at the Elder Conservatorium (ECMT) and has previously completed a BA in Classical Voice at the University of Western Australia, the Certificate course at WAAPA in Musical Theatre, and the Music Theatre Intensive at the Stella Adler Studio NYC. John is also co-founder, performer and executive producer of the new theatrical collective, EXEUNT (Pursued By A Bear) Productions, and is a budding Music Director. John is extremely passionate about Be You and strives to make the Australian theatre scene as equitable and representative as possible. He has been involved in a of Be You’s programmes as a Facilitator of Maybe This Time, Associate Music Director of Broadway Unplugged, and also a participant in Be New. John is not only the Associate Music Director for Ordinary Days, but he will also join the cast on stage each night as their accompanist.

    < Back Lana Davey they/them Associate Director Lana is an actor and singer based in Melbourne. In 2020, Lana completed a British Diploma of Musical Theatre with Associated Studios Australia, where they were able to train with many reputable industry professionals, to further enhance their skills as a performer and create strong connections in the industry. Since then, Lana has been taking the performance industry by storm with projects such as Be You Inc’s Broadway Unplugged as a backing vocalist, Wish You Were Gay Cabaret (writer/producer/performer) A Waitress Does a Cabaret at Chapel Off Chapel (writer/performer), Uni-Melb's production of Footloose as a supporting lead role and more! Lana's is very excited to be taking on the role of Associate Director of Ordinary Days with Be You Productions, and learning to take on the directorial world of theatre.

  • Rebecca O'Dowd

    < Back Rebecca O'Dowd Associate Music Director becs@beyouinc.org Rebecca completed her Bachelor’s degree in Acting for Stage and Screen from Federation University Australia’s Arts Academy in 2019 where she starred in shows such as The Comedy of Errors (dir. James Pratt), and A Woman of No Importance (dir. Kirsten Von Bibra). Whilst studying she also involved herself musically by composing or music directing these productions in collaboration with her peers and directors. Since graduating, Rebecca moved to Melbourne where she has performed most notably in Verity Norbury’s After Oscar (dir. Norbury Productions) debuting the role of Lady Marigold Reginald, and Rogue Warrior Entertainment’s Danny & Max (dir. Cayde Joy) as Louise. Before COVID cancelled them, Rebecca was Assistant Musical Director on UMMTA’s The Addams Family, Keyboard 1 on Waverley Christian College’s Seussical, and Keyboard 1 on Loreto College Ballarat’s Matilda. Rebecca is an accomplished musician after studying piano for over 10 years now, and often combines her experience in music and acting when taking on creative endeavours.
