Who Can Apply?

If you’re applying to a course with Commonwealth supported places and:

face financial challenges, and/or
are from a group traditionally underrepresented in musical theatre,

this grant is designed for you.

How It Works:

Two ways to apply:

Pre-Approval – Secure early funding so you can apply to multiple schools without paying the fees upfront.
Reimbursement – If you’ve already paid your audition fees, we’ll help relieve the financial pressure.

Our panel assesses applications based on:

your dedication to the performing arts
the challenges you’ve faced
the potential impact of the grant on your career

We follow a strict Conflict of Interest policy: if a panel member has worked with you in a meaningful way or has a personal connection that could create bias, they will step back from the selection process.

School Audition Grant Conditions

Grants provided by Be You Grants

Definitions:

Grantee: The person receiving the grant.
Application: Your audition application for a music theatre school, plus the related invoice for payment.
Completion Date: The date of your scheduled audition.

Conditions:

1. Purpose of the grant

The grant must be used only for the audition application(s) listed in your application form.
It cannot be used for any other purpose without our written approval.

2. Payment

The grant will be paid directly to the grantee.
We will reimburse up to the actual cost shown on your official school invoice.

3. Timing

If your audition does not take place by the Completion Date — and you have not received written approval for an extension — the grant may be cancelled.
No part of the grant may be used after the Completion Date without our written approval.

4. Keeping us updated

You must let us know straight away if anything changes that might affect your ability to complete your audition within the agreed time.

5. Location

The grant is to be used only within Australia, and where specified, only in the nominated State or Territory.

6. Proof of use

You must provide an official receipt from the school within 10 business days of receiving the grant.

7. Changes to conditions

These conditions may be updated before or at the time of payment.
By accepting payment, you agree to any updated conditions provided to you in writing.

Note: If you do not meet the grant conditions, this will be taken into account in any future applications you make to Be You Group.
