Laura de Iongh (she/her)
President

Through a lifetime of dance experience that led her to choreographing musicals in London, Laura brings her love of creation and organisation to the board, helping us to tailor our programs to suit wide audiences. As both a performer and creative team member, Laura brings a unique perspective to Be You that helps guide our values, and create safe, supportive theatre experiences.

Harry Tibballs (he/him)
Vice President

 Our inaugural secretary, Harry brings years of committee and secretariat experience in a range of educational and cultural charities and not-for-profit organisations to our board. His passion for helping others is the driving force behind the board’s productivity, while performing in shows and working as a Junior Doctor.

Harry believes in balance, and that everyone involved in staging musicals should be kind, productive and prioritise fun. He created and runs our

Be New program.

Nabs Adnan (he/him)
Treasurer

Nabs is a Masters of Professional Accounting student by day, and a theatre performer and maker by night. In his 4 short years in Melbourne, Nabs has dipped his toes in various roles in community theatre as a performer, creative, and production team member. Nabs is passionate about equity and diversity in theatre and as Be You's Treasurer, he is committed and passionate in making a fair and equitable environment for everyone. Nabs has been on Be You’s Advisory Board, a director of Cabaret Entree, and Producer of Ordinary Days with Productions. 

Rebecca Price (she/her)
Board Member

Rebecca is a proud descendant of the Tagalaka people of Far North Queensland and was recently an artist of the 2021 Maybe This Time showcase. Recently graduating with her Bachelor of Music (Music Theatre) from AIM, her love of engaging and performing with like-minded creatives to foster healthy work environments and inclusive conversations has her excited to be joining the board for Be You.

Moving forward, her dream for the future of the theatre industry is one where everyone’s voice is heard and inclusivity and empowerment is second nature.

John Mondelo (he/him)
Board member

John is a singer, actor and food lover originally from Perth. He is a recent graduate of the inaugural cohort of the Bachelor of Music Theatre at the Elder Conservatorium (ECMT) and has previously completed a BA in Classical Voice at the University of Western Australia, the Certificate course at WAAPA in Musical Theatre, and the Music Theatre Intensive at the Stella Adler Studio NYC.

John is also co-founder, performer and executive producer of the new theatrical collective, EXEUNT (Pursued By A Bear) Productions, and is a budding Music Director.

John is extremely passionate about Be You and strives to make the Australian theatre scene as equitable and representative as possible. He has been involved in a few Be You programmes including working on MTT, Broadway Unplugged, an Associate Director for Ordinary Days and also a participant in Be New.

Riley (they/them)
Board Member

Riley is an actor, singer, musician and songwriter based in Naarm, Melbourne. After finishing their training with Associated Studios Australia, Riley has leapt into action, taking on the world of performance with a fiery passion and warm embrace.

Some of the many projects Riley has had the honour to take part in include; Be You Inc's Broadway Unplugged as a Resident Artist, Wish You Were Gay Cabaret (co-writer, co-producer and lead) at The MC Showroom, A Waitress Does A Cabaret (writer, co-producer and lead) at Chapel Off Chapel, Be You Production's Ordinary Days (associate director) and most recently joined the co-creators of The Lyre and the Hyacinth - an original Australian musical (co-composer & co-lyricist) and Melbourne Shakespeare Company’s production of The Wacky Wombat! (instrumentalist/puppeteer/actor).

Riley is incredibly excited to be a part of Be You Inc and their passionate journey of making the world of musical theatre inclusive for everyone.

Chelsea Homan (she/her)
Secretary 2021 - 2022, Board Member 2020

Chelsea has a Bachelor of Music (Music Theatre) from AIM and completed her Honours in Theatre and Performance at Monash University. She's been a backing vocalist for Broadway Unplugged, and after working with the Be You team she wanted to get involved in the management team.

She's passionate about and believes in creating equal opportunities for all performers and wants to be part of the change to the music theatre industry to make these opportunities happen!

Diona Hill (she/her)
Board member 2021 - 2022

Diona is an Australian-Filipino artist who recently was a part of the 2021 Maybe This Time program. Diona's love for performing is equal to her desire to empower and encourage those around her. This is why she is excited to join the Board at Be You.

 

Having previously worked extensively in the Fashion Merchandising industry, Diona is well placed to foster the relationship between business and creativity. She hopes to help Be You Inc grow and continue to provide opportunities to make theatre more accessible for our community.

Katie Long (they/he)
Board member 2020 - 2021

Being an advocate for Asian and LGBTQ+ communities, Katie began their Bachelor of Music Theatre at Federation University Arts Academy to explore personal politics within their passion.

Katie went into their formal training as an accomplished musician, being classically trained in violin. Katie has had the privilege to perform in shows such as “The Wild Blue” (The Selfish Dude), “The Sovereign Wife” (Brandon), “Seussical the Musical” (Jojo Understudy), and “Heathers: The Musical” (Young Republicanette). Katie has also played in several orchestras for shows such as “The Little Mermaid” (Violin 1), and “Chicago” (Violin).

Katie is also very proud to feature in Vidya Makan’s “I Need You to See Me”, an online video celebrating diversity in the Australian theatre industry.

Bradley Dylan (he/they)
President 2018 - 2021

As the founder and president of Be You Inc, Bradley is the artistic voice and vision behind all of its projects. His passion for leadership, holistic approach to sociology and social systems, and degrees in business, management, and applied psychology, coupled with extensive experience in running production companies and performing arts studios since 2004, gives him a unique perspective on the future of theatre, and how best to use applied psychological approaches for the betterment of everyone involved. Bradley is currently studying a Master of Social and Organisational Leadership.

He is the Producer and Director of Broadway Unplugged.

Daniele Buatti (he/him)
Vice President 2018 - 2021

A passionate musician, music director, and storyteller, Daniele loves
nothing more than exploring how music can be used to effect an audience and support the sharing of stories. He brings a wealth of experience to the board through his knowledge of music, his love of story, and his desire
to make genuine connections with people. Daniele is the Creative Director of Broadway Unplugged.

Brendan Jelley (he/him)
Treasurer 2020

Brendan is a Casting and Communications professional as well as passionate performer with experience in many areas of the industry. His performance journey includes Musical Theatre productions, dancing around the world on cruise ships, as well as working with contemporary and commercial dance companies. 

 

A proud member of the Be You Inc Operations team he strives for an industry of empowered performers and creatives and aims to promote a more diverse inclusive industry in his roles as Casting Director and Head of Communications. As an advocate for supportive environments in what can be a tough industry, Brendan always strives to challenge stigma, create opportunities and share insight through experience.

Kaori Maeda-Judge (she/her)
Board member 2019-20

Kaori has a diploma in screen acting (Film and Television Institute) and a BFA in Music Theatre (VCA), she’s appeared as a series regular on Neighbours in the role of Jasmine Udagawa, and alongside Nazeem Hussain on his comedy skit show, Orange Is The New Brown.

She’s had the pleasure to sing on stage with people such as accomplished Broadway composer, John Bucchino, as a soloist in a concert of his work and alongside such Australian icons as John Waters, Tim Freedman and Brian Mannix in the cast of PARIS – A Rock Odyssey. In 2019, Kaori was honoured to be a part of the original Australian cast of Lazarus playing the role of Maemi presented by The Production Company.

Bridie Pamment (she/her)
Inaugural Treasurer

Bridie has extensive knowledge of theatre both on and off the stage, a leading lady in many community productions, and an accomplished writer, composer and director.
